The GSM Association's 3GSM World Congress - organised in partnership with Informa Telecoms & Media - is the world's biggest mobile communications conference and exhibition.
The 3GSM World Congress 2006 took place for the first time at the Fira de Barcelona, Spain, between 13 and 16 February 2006. In 2005, the event attracted 34,000 visitors from more than 171 countries, with more than 600 exhibitors and 1,200 media and analyst visitors. Final attendance figures for 3GSM World Congress 2006 - in its inaugural year in Barcelona – confirm the event as the biggest mobile show on Earth. A total attendance of 50,000 visitors converged on the Fira de Barcelona conference and exhibition centre from across the global mobile industry to do business in a decisive year for new multimedia services and growing markets.
Informa Telecoms & Media and the GSM Association have also established a highly successful series of GSM events worldwide, each recognised as a crucial local meeting place for the GSM industry.
